Electrolysis
Electrolysis is not only the oldest, but the only FDA approved method of permanent hair removal. The practice itself has been around since 1875 when Dr. Charles Michel used it to remove ingrown eyelashes. Throughout the years it has evolved to include not only traditional electrolysis but Thermolysis and Blend technique. Evolation offers both Thermolysis and Blend type of Electrolysis hair removal. We use only the top-of-the-line quality equipment including the Apilus xCell Pur, the Hinkel UC3+ and a Zeiss Opmi Pico Surgical Microscope. The Zeiss Surgical Microscope allows for better ergonomics for me, more accurate insertions for my clients and overall more comfort for us both. We are the only Electrolysis Facility in the Edmonton area to offer this superior combination.
Apilus
The Apilus xCell Pur combines Artificial Intelligence with increased power and outstanding comfort to yield superior results. It uses a 27.12 MHz ultrafast radiofrequency which is up to 6 times faster than that of other epilators. What does this mean…
1. Quicker Results
2. Increased Power
3. Exceptional Comfort
The Apilus xCell Pur offers an unparalleled level of comfort for permanent hair removal.
Hinkel
The Hinkel UC3+ Epilator was primarily developed for Blend type treatments. Despite the advancements of The Apilus, we still consider it superior in this modality of treatment and are fortunate to offer it when Thermolysis is not our treatment of choice.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- A small microcurrent is delivered to the hair follicle via a one-time use stainless steel filament producing either a thermal or electrolytic (chemical) reaction in the follicle targeting the nutritive supply to the hair follicle.
-
A brief heat and possible sharp sensation is felt.
-
The hair is then removed.
You may experience redness, swelling and possible honeycomb crusted scabs after your treatment depending on the type of modality that was used (i.e. Blend vs. Thermolysis) and skin reactivity. These reactions are temporary and will subside within hours to a few days depending on the individual.
A topical anesthetic can be applied prior to treatment if necessary.
You can resume normal activities but should avoid the sun or abrasive cleansers on treated skin after treatment for a few days.
Because hair grows in stages, a series of consistent treatments are often required and will be discussed either during your first treatment or consultation.
VISUAL AIDES
To assist with quicker more accurate insertions, I use a Zeiss Surgical Microscope. This allows better ergonomics for me, better vision for more accurate insertions and more comfort for my clients.
